Upper Primary and Lower Secondary Incursion at School and Excursion to Nodes Beach, Whitfords on Wednesday 29 November 2017
The students will be going to Nodes Beach, Whitfords for a beach cleanup and data collection with the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (Tangaroa Blue Foundation). We will start with an incursion presentation at school at 9.00am followed by the excursion to Nodes Beach, leaving school at 10.00am. We will have a safety brief, beach cleanup then data collection, followed by a picnic lunch.
The children will be accompanied by Fiona and Lena and we will need 2-3 parent volunteers to help with transport and supervision. Once we have received the permission slips, teaching staff will notify parent helpers if they are needed, depending on the numbers.
We will be leaving school at 10.00am and travel by school bus, teacher’s and parent’s cars. We will leave to return to school at approximately 1.30pm.
The students are required to wear sensible clothes, bring a hat, sunscreen, picnic lunch and a water bottle. No swimming is permitted.
Please note no electronic games or other devices are to taken on excursions and students who are unable to comply with behavioural expectations will need to return to school/home at parental expense. Supervision and a suitable educational program will be provided for them at school. This decision rests with the teacher in charge.
Permission slip needs to be returned to teacher by Friday 17 November 2017
Many thanks
Fiona and Lena
