Excitement Builds as Community Anticipates Transformative Changes
In a historic event today, our school marked a significant milestone in its over 60-year history with a groundbreaking ceremony for the much-anticipated Upper Secondary Building. The event was graced by the presence of our principal, architect, members of the Capital Planning Sub-Committee, Life Members, Board Directors, and enthusiastic students and staff.
Amidst the buzzing excitement, the symbolic turning of soil took place, signifying the commencement of the construction phase for the state-of-the-art building. This momentous occasion was a testament to the collective efforts of our community, working tirelessly over the past three years to bring this project to fruition.
As construction gains momentum over the next few months, our vibrant school community eagerly anticipates transformative changes on the horizon. While temporary inconveniences, such as the relocation of sports activities, are inevitable during this period, our proactive approach involves the purchase of new equipment and extensive planning to identify a suitable location. The promise of a cutting-edge facility is expected to make it all worthwhile.
The new double-storey building, adjacent to the Upper Primary/Lower Secondary Building, will boast a range of amenities, including a science laboratory, flexible classrooms, a library, student common room, kitchen facilities, additional toilets, staff room, and an outdoor auditorium space. These additions aim to enhance the learning experience for our senior students and foster a dynamic and engaging school environment.
During the Groundbreaking Ceremony, students enthusiastically contributed items to a time capsule. This capsule, containing pieces of our school’s history, is slated for burial next year near the location of the new building, symbolising a connection between past and future generations.
Amid excitement and anticipation, we look forward to a future where the new building stands tall, embodying the principles of Montessori education and serving as a beacon of learning for generations to come.
