BirdLife Australia is a not-for-profit environmental conservation organisation that is all about protecting our native birds and the bush, and wetland habitats they rely on. The Montessori school sits within an area they have identified, to provide and connect habitat for birds, and they wish to include our older Pre-Primary and Lower Primary children in the planting of suitable local native shrubs and trees along a small section of the bike path outside the school, so birds have food, shelter and nests sites.
Children who are participating should bring a pair of gloves and a hand trowel to school on Friday, 28 June.
