At the beginning of April, the secondary students took part in two programs offered by Kings Park Educational branch. In Bush Carers they discussed Western Australian biodiversity and the importance of conservation, learnt about taxonomy and undertook work using scientific processes to take specimens, identify species, and press a plant specimen to create a herbarium. They also took part in an Introduction to Orienteering lesson, during which they applied map reading and spatial awareness skills to navigate around a series of control points.
