Helping you to make an informed decision.

We believe it is essential that the choice of a Montessori Education is an informed one. To that end, we encourage you to learn as much as possible about Montessori Education before deciding to enrol your child at our school.

You can familiarise yourself with the Montessori philosophy on our website and we suggest that you also do your own independent research.

Enrolment Process

We are an independent school for children aged 3 to 18 years, covering from pre-primary through to International Baccalaureate (Year 12). Most of our students commence at our school at the 3–6-year-old level, with most children starting the term after their third birthday. However, we welcome students of any age and level. We recommend parents apply early as we have limited spots for students in most of our classes.

Once you’re confident that the Montessori philosophy is the right fit for your family, these are the typical steps parents follow to enrol their child at our school:

1.  Apply

Start by completing our online Application Form and paying the $110 application fee to initiate the enrolment process.

3. Visti our School

Attend a Classroom Observation and join the Principal’s Tour. We also encourage prospective parents to attend one of our Discussion Nights to deepen their understanding of Montessori education.

To book any of these, please contact our School Office.

4. Attend an Interview with the Principal

The School Office will contact you to schedule an interview with the Principal.

Enrolment decisions are made after this meeting, taking into account your child’s needs, your family’s alignment with the Montessori philosophy, and the availability of places at the School.

5. Acceptance

Following a successful interview, we will offer your child a place at the School. To secure the enrolment, a non-refundable Enrolment Fee is payable upon acceptance of the offer.

Before your child begins their journey at The Montessori School Kingsley, you’ll be invited to attend an orientation in your child’s classroom and meet their teacher.

Transitioning to The Montessori School Kingsley

Welcoming students from different education paths.

Students commence at our school at all stages of their academic journeys. Moving to a Montessori environment after attending a mainstream school or a different pedagogy such as Steiner or Waldorf will require a period of adjustment; and since every child is unique, the length of the transition will vary. However, we do find that students who transfer to our school settle in quite nicely.

Pre-Primary Enrolment

New Immunisation requirements for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten children:

Effective from 22 July 2019, changes to Public Health Act 2016 (WA) and the School Education Act 1999 (WA), means that persons in charge of child care services, community, kindergartens and schools have legal responsibilities in relation to the immunisation status of children.

The School is now required to enrol only children:

  • Whose AIR Immunisation History Statement is dated no more than two months old and is ‘up to date’
  • Who are following an approved catch – up schedule as indicated on the child’s AIR Immunisation History Form that is dated no more than six months old
  • Who have a valid immunisation certificate issued or declared by the Chief Health Officer

The above restrictions won’t apply if the child is exempt because of a particular family circumstance.
